Smog Can Make Blood Pressure Soar: Studies

Both short-term and long-term exposure to air pollutants may increase the risk of high blood pressure. The study indicates that a few days of increased air pollution could cause more emergency hospital visits due to temporary spikes in blood pressure. Short-term exposure was defined as occurring over a few days, and long-term exposure over a few years.
