Treatment of tonsil stones
This hidden tonsil stone was easy to laser vapourise under local anaesthetic

Tonsil stone pockets where food and salivary debris traps and is firmed into smelly lumps causing bad breath
Tonsils can develop deep holes like these. Food and salivary debris lodges in here, forming a smelly tonsil stone

Snoring, postnasal drip and catarrhal throat clearing can be linked
This long thick uvula is causing all sorts of problems in this patient. Snoring, lump sensation, catarrh and post nasal drip

Large tonsil stone arising from a cave-like defect in the right tonsil
This large tonsil stone was extruding from a deep cave like defect at the top of the right tonsil. It was suitable for laser vapourisation under local anaesthetic spray to permanently remove it and the surrounding tonsil tissue.

Tonsil stones form in cracks, holes and crevices that run through the tonsils. They are basically food and salivary debris which becomes trapped, then rots.
These deep holes and cracks in the tonsils are where tonsil stones form. They can be the source of a bad taste and bad breath, particularly if the teeth and gums are normal
