Snorer's Uvula. Snorers traumatise their own uvula (the hanging down thing in the back of the mouth)

Here's a picture of a swollen lower uvula in a chronic snorer. See the demarcation line about 2/3 of the way up? The uvula is the main site of snoring sound production, although rarely the cause, as that's narrowing of the retro lingual space. However laser palatoplasty can be very helpful in turning down the volume of snoring

down.

That’s actually pretty eye-opening about the uvula and how snoring can affect it, I never realised the tissue there could get that irritated. On a lighter note, stuff like this always makes me think about winding down with some simple entertainment after a long day, and lately I’ve been trying games like the Rocket Goal game during my free time. It’s surprisingly fun and a pretty relaxing way to switch off for a bit.
