The best treatment for tonsil stones, if you want an instant result -how to get rid of tonsil stones

Traditional general anaesthetic dissection tonsillectomy for tonsil stones is probably the best way to guarantee a near 100% result in terms of tonsil stone eradication. The recurrence rate with this procedure is about 5%. The NHS doesent do this tonsillectomy for tonsil stones, so it will cost around £4,000 privately, with 3 weeks of severe pain and high bleeding risk which can be life threatening. At least 2 weeks off work is required.

My patients prefer the local anaesthetic spray laser vapourisation tonsillectomy, which is a lunchtime procedure from work. Yes the recurrence rate is higher, but it costs £1100, and most patients only need one procedure. After 4 procedures (<5% need this), which costs £2950, the net result is usually the same as with the traditional tonsillectomy, saving money, pain, risk and time off work. This is how to get rid of tonsil stones.
