Snoring treatment by Mike Dilkes. This blog will point out all of the salient points you need to know about when considering sorting out your snoring.

1) Sleep posture. Everyone will snore if they sleep only on their back. On their front isn't much better so sleep on your side.

2) If you wake up with a persistently dry mouth that means you are mouth breathing at night due to nose blockage. You will need to see your GP about this, or an ENT Surgeon.

3) Look at your weight, if you are overweight or have a collar size more than 16.5 inches that will be part of the problem.

4) If there is evidence of stopping breathing during sleep for 30 seconds or more, or if you wake up repeatedly in the middle of a nightmare, or anxious, that's a sign of sleep apnoea, which has to be taken seriously. You will need to see an ENT Surgeon or sleep specialist.

5) If all of these are negative, you will need to see an ENT Surgeon as there will be a partial obstruction of your breathing, which can be corrected.
