Remnants after tonsillectomy

Even small remnants after traditional or intracapsular tonsillectomy can cause a bad sore throat. More common after intracapsular tonsillectomy as the remnants are bigger. Laser vapourisation tonsillectomy is an intracapsular technique, so remnant tonsillitis can be more of a problem than with traditional tonsillectomy.
