Traditional tonsillectomy is an 80 year old procedure performed under general anaesthetic in a hospital. It has a high bleeding risk and is very painful for 3 weeks. 1% need for revision.
Laser tonsillotomy is a lunchtime procedure with a very low bleeding risk and mild pain for 5 days. 30% need for revision.
